Livestock & Goat Enterprise
End-to-end enterprise development for goat and livestock farmers — from setup to market access.
Turning a herd into a business.
Goats and livestock are one of the most accessible agricultural enterprises in Zimbabwe — but "small and accessible" does not mean "easy money." The farms that succeed are the ones that keep records, run a defined breeding programme, and treat the animals as an enterprise rather than a hobby.
We work with individual farmers, cooperatives and agripreneurs to design the enterprise properly: breed selection, housing, feeding, breeding programme, health management, the numbers, and the market route.
What we deliver
- Enterprise design — breed, scale and target market
- Housing, feeding and nutrition planning
- Breeding programme design — buck rotation, records, kidding plan
- Health management schedules and vet coordination
- The four core numbers — cost per kg gained, kidding rate, weaning rate, ADG
- Cooperative formation and governance
- Market access and value-chain linkages
How we work
- Site visit. We walk the farm and see what is actually in place.
- Design. Enterprise plan with costs, timelines and realistic targets.
- Set up. Support with infrastructure, breed sourcing and record systems.
- Train. On-farm training for the team on records, health, feeding and breeding.
- Review. Quarterly check-ins against the four core numbers.
